OPTICAL/ELECTRICAL LINE EXTENDER

The Extend optical/electrical line extender transports DS3/STS-1 signals over

extended distances and simplifies cabling in multifloor Central Offices and co-

location applications, as well as campus and building local-exchange carrier

environments. The line extender reduces congestion within the cable raceway

and includes the added feature of modularity to offset deployment costs. It

extends a DS3 or STS-1 signal up to 15km (9.375 miles). It is NEBS Level 3

compliant, has a modular design in 24-position rack-mounted chassis or single

wall-mounted chassis and features integrated cable management. The

integrated passive heat baffle requires no active fan units.

REMOTE DIGITAL TERMINALS (RDT)

The Inteleflex line of RDTs ranges from small card enclosures to large Channel

Bank Assembly (CBA) enclosures offering unmatched efficiency and flexibility

for field deployment. All cards and CBAs are interchangeable within enclosures.

RDTs are available in the following sizes: 48 lines, 144 lines, 288 lines, 432 lines,

720 lines, 1,440 lines and 2,016 lines.

The Inteleflex RDT cabinets are sealed metal cabinets designed to withstand

severe environmental conditions and to protect the equipment from harsh

elements. The RDT cabinets are compliant with Bellcore GR-63 and GR-487

requirements and contain all of the components necessary to manage power,

copper, coaxial and fiber cables.

RDT units can be powered with 110/220VAC or a combination of lines and

express power, and provide battery back-up power as well. RDT housings can be

deployed in a variety of configurations: point to point, ”drop and insert“, Star,

Star from remote terminals, Ring or any combination of these network

topologies. These versatile housings can be equipped with either MS2 or 710

connectors, and are equipped with protector blocks to accommodate standard

5-pin lighting-protector modules.
