Closures and Terminals

3M offers a wide range of copper or fiber, closures and terminals for aerial,

underground, direct buried and vault applications. There is also a wide variety

of network accessories sold with the closures and terminals.

•Aerial: Used in above ground outside plant applications, usually associated with a

strand or pole mount.

•Underground: Used in below ground outside plant applications, associated with a

ducted system, i.e. manhole, handhole, etc.

•Direct Buried: Used in below ground applications, with a non-ducted system, i.e.

buried plant or pedestal plant.

•Vault: Used in applications, associated with products that are inside a Central Office or

building.

SLIC AERIAL CLOSURES

The 3M SLiC closure is a single-piece aerial closure easily installed in

construction or maintenance situations. The one-piece construction permits

complete splice access after placement, without removal of the closure or

bonding from the cables. The closures are free breathing and suitable for

straight, butt and branch splices of non-pressurized communication cables.
